Exploring the space between us

As a group of five students, we developed the exhibition “hello” as part of our exhibition design seminar at the FH JOANNEUM.

The project aims to celebrate the positive power of human interaction by exploring three distinct modes of communication: non-verbal, verbal, and digital. Each section is housed within a container featuring interactive exhibits, with the layout serving as a physical manifestation of the theme. An immersive sound and light installation connects the non-verbal and verbal containers, while the digital container is set apart to further visualize the distance inherent in digital interaction.

While primarily targeted at Gen Z, the exhibition’s design remains simple, playful, and friendly to encourage all visitors to reflect on how we connect and how we might bridge the space between us.

of celebrating
the positive power
of communication
and interaction.
Our goal is to motivate and inspire
people to connect.”

For this project, our team operated with specialized roles while maintaining a shared commitment to the overall concept.

Some team members collaborated on the 3D renderings and structural design, I worked closely with my colleagues on the conceptual development and the editorial strategy. This highly collaborative process extended to the final outcome: a meticulously crafted book, edited with a deep attention to detail and a commitment to preserving the passion we invested in every stage of the process.
